Maude Leslie Bowen Wilson

Maude Leslie Bowen Wilson, 89, of Roanoke Rapids died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Carolina House at Pinehurst.

Mrs. Wilson was a native of Durham County, the daughter of the late Ike Bowen Leslie and Saltana True Leslie. She was a member of East Tenth Street Church of Christ, a former Sunday school teacher and held many other positions in the church. She was the founder of Wilson’s Florist in 1960. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Wilson.

She is survived by two daughters, Marie Moss of Roanoke Rapids, and Yvonne Haskins and her husband, Al, of Aberdeen; her son, Larry Wilson and his wife, Peggy, of Fort Myers, FL; eight grandchildren, Craig Moss, Ted Moss, Corey Haskins, Holly Campbell, Charity Haskins, Charissa Comerota, Scott Erickson and Jason Erickson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, March 4, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Marie Moss, 1423 Virginia Ave., Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Dave Chapman officiating. Entombment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
